The Pelham Preservation Society opposed the building now called "Colonial Court" at 8 Boulevard
West. This building was approved under then Mayor Volpe and his "Floating Zone" changes to the Village Code. The village allowed it to be built right up to the property lines of the residential homes to the south and within
a few feet of the historic "Stiefvater Real Estate" building and other historic buildings to the west. Constructed
of cement block with no redeeming architectural merit, the building represents a sad and unfortunate blight on the Village
of Pelham and stands in marked contrast to projects supported by Pelham Preservation, such as Marbury Corners.
